Short answer
Commercial gas meter faults include low or unstable outlet pressure, creeping pressure when demand stops, a meter that is noisy, stuck or not registering, and leaks at the meter installation. The meter and its regulator usually belong to the meter asset manager, so they must arrange repair; your gas engineer diagnoses and fixes everything after the meter outlet.
Who owns what
The gas transporter owns the service pipe up to the emergency control valve; the meter asset manager (appointed via your supplier) owns the meter and regulator; you own the installation from the meter outlet onwards. If you smell gas, call the National Gas Emergency Service on 0800 111 999.
How we help
We measure standing and working pressures at the meter outlet and appliances to prove whether a problem is the meter, the regulator or your pipework, give you the readings to send to your supplier, and fix any installation-side faults.
Figures are typical for UK natural gas. The current edition of the relevant IGEM standard and the manufacturer's instructions always take precedence on site.
